As we often find, daily routines can’t stop functioning when it comes to new flooring being fitted. This was indeed the case at the brilliant Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield. The Children’s Ward continued to function around us as we re-floored the main corridor and reception area. The job felt a bit sentimental, being at the hospital Robert was born in, so we ensured that we delivered the quality work that Bradbury is known for.
There was a constant risk of dust contamination to patients which we navigated by working in sections – cordoning off and sealing parts of the ward whilst we worked on others.
We worked closely with the hospital staff and main contractors, working unusual shift patterns to make sure we didn’t impact the flow of life at Good Hope. Everyone on the ward was delighted with the finish – and if the client’s happy, we’re happy. It’s always rewarding to know that your job will make a difference. A great floor might not seem like much, but if it can make even one person feel a little bit better whilst they’re in the hospital – which it might – we’ve done our job.
One highlight of this job was when our fitters were setting out the vinyl and replicating the design from the plans of the new floor layout.
