Challenge

Rectifying the current state of the flooring

High street stores can tend to be old buildings meaning they need extra care

When one floor was removed it revealed a sub floor made out of 1930’s magnesite; a flooring made from a mixture of calcined magnesite and magnesium chloride solution with various fillers (e.g. wood flour, sawdust, asbestos).

Solution

During our time working with Shoe Zone, we have installed various subfloor solutions in order to overcome the challenges of age and fragility. We also make sure that damp proof membranes are always installed where required to isolate any moisture, which is one of the biggest problem we encounter. Every Shoe Zone shop is surveyed and six damp tests are recorded to ensure we assess the condition of the floor before proceeding with the project. This ensures  longevity for our client –something we safeguard as a matter of course, and continue to do on every project.

The staff at Shoe Zone are always happy with the work that we produce, this is the reason we’ve achieved a relationship spanning over 22 years – and will hopefully continue in the future.

Testimonial

“Shoe Zone has been working with Bradbury Flooring for around 20 years. Over the years we have developed a good working relationship and overcome various. Bradbury’s have worked in many of Shoe Zone’s 500 stores and at our head office premises in Leicester. Our requirements have been for both carpet and vinyl flooring. We would highly recommend them as a contractor. “ – Steve Chater, Property Manager, on behalf of Shoe Zone Retail Ltd
